Austria is a country full of great sights and is very hard to decide which ones to choose during a single visit of this country. We tried to present a tour of this extraordinary country that provides almost everything a tourist would like. The list is created from the published rankings of the minister for turism of Austria and refers to the 10 most important tourist attractions preferred by the visitors of the country. The top 5 wondeful places of Austria include the Schonbrunn Palace, the Hohensalzburg Fortress, the Prater Ferris Wheel, the Graz Schlossberg with the Clock Tower and the Swarovski Crystal World.

The Schönbrunn Palace

The Schönbrunn Palace is the most visited landmark of Austria. Built in a unique style, Imperia Baroque, and painted in a bright yellow, the palace is actually a complex of buildings. Besides to the primary building, the most special ones are the Gloriette and the Palm House. The landscape is a true work of art: a garden with plenty of flowers and colors, maze, alleys of trees and a small yard. Palace also owns the oldest and largest zoo and it is now modernized according to the standards required by the protection law of animals. The palace was the summer residence of the Habsburg family and birthplace of Franz Josef (1830).

The Hohensalzburg Fortress

The Hohensalzburg Fortress is one of the top 5 wonderful places in Austria and the most impressive building of Salzburg, the city of Mozart. The construction began in the 12th century, its towers overlooking the old town. Later continuous additions and further strengthenings have been made, so that has become one of the strongest bastions of defense, providing power to the Romano-Catholic Archiepiscopate until the end of the 18th century.

The Ferris Wheel in the Prater

The Ferris Wheel in the Prater is perhaps the most famous image of Vienna. Located in the old amusement park near the Danube river and close to the city center, the wheel was built between 1896-1897 and was recently refurbished. On the wheel, the tourist have the opportunity to see an overview of Vienna, especially the surroundings of the Dome of St. Stephen.

The Graz Schlossberg with the Clock Tower

The Graz Schlossberg with the Clock Tower is the emblem of the city, the capital of Styria and the second largest city in Austria. It is one of the most important sights in Austria.

The Swarovski Crystal World

The Swarovski Crystal Worlds is a thematic exhibition, which presents the most important and outstanding work and jewelry belonging to the designers of the factory. It was built in 1995 by architect and artist Andre Haller. It is obviously a one of the most wonderful places of Austria that worth to be visited.
