Vienna has been enriched two years ago with a new attraction: the Cabinet of the world famous wax figures, Madame Tussauds. The wax figures at Madame Tussauds fascinated audiences for over 150 years and the museum in Vienna is the 11th branch of it.

The museum is located in the Riesenradplatz of the Prater Amusement Park, at the entrance, on the left, at the right being the great wheel. At the Madame Tussauds Museum in Vienna you can admire 69 wax figures. At the spot where the museum lies once was a huge casino.

The creation of the wax figures

Creating a wax figure can last from three to six months. To reproduce the tiny details and features of a person as faithfully as possible are required over 500 precise body measurements of the person and about 200 photos. Each wax figure has a value 200 000 euro and their creation is and investment of about 800 hours of work.

The characters of the Wax Museum in Vienna

At the entrance of the Wax Museum in Vienna you are greet by Emperor Franz Joseph and his beautiful Sisi, who is somewhere in the distance and has a sad atmosphere.
