Innsbruck is a beautiful town in the middle of Tyrol that awaits you with open arms. Innsbruck is both a cultural city and a sports paradise. No matter what your hobbies are, you will surely find something to do in Innsbruck.

Besides the cultural beauty that you can enjoy in Innsbruck, do not forget that this city is the capital of skiing in Tirol. The Olimpia Skiworld hosted two times the Winter Olympics, in the year 1964 and in the year 1976. The Olimpia Skiworld is an area with 295 km of slopes and 89 lifts. In Innsbruck you will also find places with tasty food, that worth to be visited.


The city of skiers

The Olimpia Skiworld consists of nine ski areas around Innsbruck: Stubai Glacier, Nordpark, Patscherkofel, Axamer Lizum, Muttereralm Kuhtai, Ranggerköpfl, Glungezer, Schlick 2000.

Of these ski areas we have chosen to present you a little more detailed the Nordpark and Mutters regions, but more from the eye of a visitor than a skier.

In Nordkpark you should take the cable car to the top and enjoy the wonderful view over the city of Innsbruck. It is at a height of 2260 m, so if the weather is clear, you can have a beautiful panorama.

The city of tasty food

In Mutters you might climb the trail all the cable and stay up a little more on the side, because at the restaurant you can eat the best apple strudel in all Innsbruck. Since you are in the Tyrolean capital you must try some other traditional dishes. If you try the apple strudel there, you will like it very much. It might be different in every town, but everywhere it is very very good. The best is anyway in the restaurant on the Mutters.

If you are in Innsbruck, you should try a variety of other traditional dishes, for example some meat dishes.

In Innsbruck are specialized stores with such traditional products. For example there is one of the shops right in the old city center, called Specker. There are many kind of traditional products and you can be sure of the good taste and quality of them because if you stay in a store for a while, you will see that everyone who enters the store or wants to taste a product, will surely buy some. Innsbruck might be one of those cities from where you will buy traditional products to bring them home. It can be a great souvenir, your family and friends will really like this gift from Innsbruck
