One tip is, when you are traveling with children, always ask for special reductions. Many Austrian cities allows free transportation for children up to 15 years old and maximum of four children to free transport travel if accompanied by an adult.

There are many cultural delights in Austrian cities for sightseeing and discounts for dinning and shopping. If you just want a great hearty snack, you can check out the “Würstelstand” which are late night institution peppered on inner city streets. They are like the kebab place and you can find stalls with a wide variety of sausages. Most of these stalls open until early dawn. After some disco dancing or drinks particularly if you have a hangover, go for a pair of deliciously grilled sausages. You must taste it with freshly grated horseradish. Other ways to top it is with ketchup, mustard, a piece of dark bread or even gherkins. Finally, a can of the Austrian beer is a must to quench it down. For June, you should see the Musical Film Festival Vienna which lasts til August. The entrance is free and it begins from dawn. 7th June is the Corpus Christi and it will be a public holiday. Other than this, Europe’s biggest open-air party, the Festival on the 4.5 kilometers Danube Island is happening in 2012 ‘Now or Never’, dance to your hearts’ content for free.
