Ottakringer & Gosser

Ottakringer is named after the 16th Viennese district.  It was from Planksche Brauerei but the best times it had was before 1913. It tastes malty. Most importantly it is well-balanced and soft. There is a non-alcoholic version of this beer, called Null Komma Josef. Funny name as it has, it means Zero Point Joe and the slang locally for it means it is ‘next to nothing’. As for Gosser, it is slightly pale and malty. There are different variations, some flavorless, others stronger and has a distinct yellow colour.

Reininghaus, Puntigamer & Schladminger

In the history of the federal state Styria, Reininghaus has a big name at that time. It was started by two brothers with a steam powered brewery and what you get is a pleasant bitter taste that is smooth in texture. The Puntigamer has 5.1% alcholic content and it is a traditional Styrias beer. In Graz you can easily find it and try its pleasant aroma of hops. Similar alcholic content as the former, Schladminger has a full malty yet refreshing taste. The aftertaste is a slight bitter. The best place to enjoy this beer is at the top of the Dachstein.
